Beautifully packaged CD release of this excellent debut album from Dice – who has come a long way from his hip hop roots. Based in Dusseldorf, Dice has been resident at Ibiza’s DC10, released the huge “Seeing Through Shadows” on Minus and been behind some stunningly prodcued tracks on Cadenza. Moving away from Dusseldorf for the streets of New York, Dice created this album over the last year or so – this should suit both home listeners and djs wanting some good club tracks. The album starts with the sublime “Breakfast At Nina’s”, loose, intricate beats and a sweet vocal combine then change for an excellent, organic start. “How Do I Know” is another Cadenza excursion into rhythm – never straying too far from melody and percussion & that all important simple – organic style. Hypnotic and fascinating. “La Esquina” is another highlight – an upbeat, good-vibe track built using two house piano riffs that intertwine each other perfectly. Never completely leaving his hip hop roots behind “Pimp”

Finally – with catalogue number BPC 172 – we present two new tracks by Paul
Kalkbrenner: “Bingo Bongo” and “Schwere Ware”.
Since the year 2000 this exceptional producer is touring the world, we haven´t even
seen him at our BPC headquarter for a long time. Nevertheless, we are very happy
he found time to come up with a true killer record, alongside productions for a movie
and his next album.
A: Bingo Bongo
The self-titled “tightrope walk”, to speak with Paule´s words, comes along with a very
implanting style. The track is moving non-stop. Bundled with a minimalistic hypnotic
groove the dancer is literally being grabbed by the scruff of his neck, given a good
shaking, and left back like that – completely disordered. As proven in our secret
laboratories: this track will rock dancefloors always. And everywhere. Without mercy…
B: Schwere Ware
For the B-Side, the trackname (“Heavy Ware”) definately is the program!
A phat, stomping track is pushing the Dancer forward and forword, without even
thinking of giving you time to breathe. Absolutely no compromises – pure Kalkbrenner.
There´s nothing more to say.
musick 21 – 12“ – out March, 28th 2008
SHRUBBN!! is back!!
musick (shitkatapult´s clubload label) presents RUMPELRITTER – an epic tekkkno 12″ by schieres and t.raumschmiere aka SHRUBBN!! this record contains four basic techno tracks with a zero tolerance policy against all odds. Opener BASSTOELPEL presents a straight 4 to the floor beat with a great hook-melody line. KUCHENBLECH and THEMA 2.0 follow this idea combining rave and rough and musick. last track on this ep is the giant ambient piece EBENHOLZ that has been made of pure sound progression and not easy logic plug ins. after all RUMPELRITTER remarks a great follow up of the first musick 12″ by SHRUBBN!! who are able to merge the “good old” t.raumschmiere techno punk vibe with a crystal clear techno beat. please also look out for the amazing SHRUBBN!! remixes of APPARAT (on shitkatapult´s upcoming strike 89 -apparat remixes double CD) and depeche mode singer DAVE GAHAN (on mute). feel the taste of musick – with SHRUBBN!!

shitkatapult strike 91 – CD – out 2nd of may 2008
LARS FENIN has been a shitkatapult artist right from the start. his first ep “container“ (strike 19) already displayed his unique dub techno trademark sound in the late nineties. several eps and one wonderful album (“grounded“) later shitkatapult proudly presents his second album “been through“ in may 2008. and FENIN truely developed: “been through“ steps out of the dub techno circus to involve much more.
firstly rhythmwise you can recognize that the dub step era influenced the berlin producer: 4 to the floor beats have been replaced by strong broken patterns that still deal with a dancefloor feeling but with ltheir subtle breaks and moves develop into a very own approach to electronic dancehall.
secondly and more important: just as other shitkatapult artists like T.RAUMSCHMIERE and APPARAT for example, FENIN developed his songwriting skills that already led him to his most impressing track so far (“none of them“ from “grounded”). the track “A TRY“ is far out! heartbreaking lyrics on a wonderful conscious tune, that easily merges dancefloor and listening approach. fenin’s charming comrade GORBI, a berlin based singer from ghana, lends his unique voice for this beautiful track. far away from being a ripping wanna-be jamaican reggae toaster, GORBI showcases a real african singer spirit in his work. as a whole “been through“ contains 4 tracks with GORBI: the very african “colourfield“, the majestic “a try“, the silent “I guess“ and the smiling cover version of “red red wine“ mark a line of tunes, songs – not tracks.
FENIN also released on labels like ECHOCORD, METEOSOUND, REVOLVER, HÖRZU, EINTAKT.

Greek duo AirbusModular will be releasing their debut record “Destination” on Traum in
April 08´.
The 3-tracker features the title track on the a-side. The brainy melodic avalanche track
“Destinations” has sequences wandering up and down randomly creating a seemingly
Latin like flavour.
The b-side holds the tracks “Poise” and “Manoeuvres time seconds”. “Poise” is a technical
but energetic track with lots of different parameters and small details throwing you gently
from one corner into the next. As the track evolves it develops into a dubby relaxed techno
house track.
AirbusModular´s shift from one genre into the other is achieved by a fantastic loose sort of
jam session like structure.
The b2 track “Manoeuvres time seconds” is more experimental and occasionally hits with
organ stabs und cool breaks.

B2. Manoeuvres time seconds

Bukaddor & Fishbeck´s forth EP on MBF is again another step further into a slightly
different direction. As we have witnessed everyone of their record´s has been different so
far. “Nachtexpress/ Long distance call” stood for hypnotic repetitive contemplative music,
“Less/ Polterabend” for dynamic rocking heavy duty techno house, “Supaglass/ Campus”
added a touch of pop and smoothness… their new record “Live is Life/ Mr. Floppy” is
definitely the most stripped down percussive record they have done so far.
The beat phreak track “Live is Life” evolved from their recent live gigs in Rome. It is a very
direct “hands up in the air” monster.
We think Richie Hawtin will be able to relate to that tune since it evokes feelings of the past
which arouse when dancing to Plastikman records. Now with “Live is Life” the force is also
the unbelievable heavy bassline which is the motor for the track together with the
determined percussive onslaught.
“Live is Life” is definitely a DJ track which will mix in well with a lot of minimal records, but
the fatness of this one will show for sure.
“Mr. Floppy” is closer to their track “Campus” much bolder and softer, but very percussive
and funky. Probably the track which is less extreme but will work in many sets since it´s less
demanding, has cool breaks to relax and dynamic shifts which are all very well thought
out.
We can see this records will be a real DJ weapon, so don´t miss it.
Tracklist:
A. Live is Life
B. Mr. Floppy

We are ecstatic to welcome Octopus to the Tailored family!
A modern electronic music imprint maintained and curated by Sian
(Aus/Pokerflat/Karmarouge), Octopus has to date worked with artists of the calibre of
Gui Borratto, 3Channels and Calculus.
Their fourth release welcomes French artist Herve AK, well known for his seasoned
and delicate techno compositions. Resident DJ and artistic director of Lyon’s renowned
DV1 club, Herve has to date released on everyone from K2/Kompact, Stirsound and
Obsolete, picking up a reputation as the ‘Louis Vuitton of techno’ along the way.
A side ‘Sorry But No’ (Rippertons D3 Remix) invites cultured Swiss artist Ripperton to
reinvent Herve’s original. Opening with clattering percussion, live electronic signals
coalesce into a melodic push, with euphoric pads and an off beat bass climb pushing the
mix to the edge and beyond.
On the B side, Herve’s original pulses and crackles with flickered percussion and patient
melody. Ethereal pads slowly approach from a distance, enlivening the composition and
agitating the dormant static into a frenzied climax.

Persona label boss Stewart Walker returns with his first
12” release since last year’s well-received album
“Concentricity.” On this release he continues to seek the
correct balance between power and detail in high,
medium, and low intensity versions.
The powerful A – Side, “The Stiff Materialist” kicks off the release with at least a thousand sounds
and a clearly defined dynamic narrative which shifts between many unique-sounding peaks and
plateaus.
B1 – “Free Association” has become a staple of Stewart’s live shows over the last 6 months. It’s a
little bit more subdued than the track on the flip, but it gains intensity with a pull on the pitch-slider,
and at slower pitches becomes more groovy.
B2 – “Mint Tea with Honey” is the most peaceful track of the EP, and one for those who really
enjoyed “Getting Drunk was the Right Thing to Do.” from Stewart’s last Persona 12” “Druid Hills.”
After an excellent feedback for its first release, Renovatio Records presents an ep made by young and rising producers from Sardinia.
The first track “Techno inside Me” is produced by Andrew KK, a new talented and promising artist from the sardinian techno scene who already released on 4line records from Barcelona. His track for Renovatio is obscure and obsessive, with a lot of synths that impress with its epic and agressive atmosphere.
The first track on the b side is “Techno is brain”, from the label manager Alessio Mereu, characterised by a deep bassline and a pressing groove, in which the hypnotic synths and a sensual voice are perfectly puzzled in and destined to keep the dancefloor crazy.
On the same side, “Morale della favola” by Danilo Carboni is characterised by a funky groove and deep sounds getting a surprising impact, with a particular evolution and great rithmics.
Don’t miss it!

A product of an intense artistic exchange between Parisian producer DJ Yellow and
New Yorker Astrid Suryanto, ‘The Intermission’ catalogues a story of burning desire
and accursed love.
The concept was clear from day one. The duo would write a love letter, and sculpt an
album from its contents. Within the letter was a tale of a character so tormented by the
possibility of her relationship losing colour that she decided to leave, eternally
preserving it’s resonance but tragically separating the star-crossed couple.
This bitter-sweet contrast of beauty and melancholy is ever present in ‘Intermission’,
with Astrid Suryanto’s soaring vocals adding shades of light and dark to DJ Yellow’s
blend of cold metallic techno and uplifting electronic pop.
Tracks like ‘In Your Voice’, ‘Light On Me’ and ‘To The Top’ are saturated with ethereal
pads and epic vocal harmony, yet animated by a jagged, buzzed synth and deep bass
pound that maintains the balance between warm and cold.
Not every track is shrouded in such conflict however, with cuts like ‘Night In’ and ‘You
Are’ moving into the realms of electronic pop, with technically complex rhythms
lightened by optimistic bass and a warm, ambient vocal tone.
Together, DJ Yellow and Astrid Suryanto have crafted an enchanting album that
approaches with intimate lyricism, moves with whirlwind euphoria and leaves behind a
resonant ember.

With Roland M. Dill we have signed our first home based artist from Cologne for a long
time.
Roland M. Dill has won a couple of DJ contests in the Rhein area and is a person who likes
the challenge of physical extremes. His passion is ice climbing, where he throws the axe
rhythmically in the glacier wall and has successfully climbed the Chimborazo.
He likes to DJ at least with 3 record players and if that all sounds a bit worrying… well he
is a guy that knows what he is doing.
Roland´s release on Trapez ltd in February 2008 is his first one and a stunning debut.
Quite untypical for the Cologne scene, that has lived some years from the inspiration of
Wolfgang Voigt, we witness here a fresh new style.
His release shows his skill to be accurate, physical and at the same time very funky. His
influences range from Chicago Jack trax to Adam Beyer, which he reveals with his tracks
the “8th Day” and “9th Day”.
Both tracks work with complex seemingly simple groove patterns and are special in that
respect that they bridge the borderline between Chicago and European minimal techno.
Being a youngster and newcomer we see a great potential in his fresh and dynamic way of
writing techno music and have asked him to produce a mix for Alex Under´s Remix EP
which will be released digitally on top of the vinyl release in January 2008.
In addition to the vinyl 12″ “Days” on Trapez ltd Roland will be releasing the digital bonus
track “Modus Operandy” which was also included on the Trapez mix CD “Triple R -
Selection 6″.

After two very successful 12″s on MBF Piemont have earned their role as one of the key
players on the label. With their new record “Bastille” they have developed their style even
stronger in the fashion of their first two releases. Piemont have taken some time out to
deliver a record that really works with similar parameters.
Their trademark so far has been a fat production that strips down elements of electro-house
and progressive elements in a rhythmical way that makes them one of the best producers
from Hamburg.
MBF is proud to present a 2 -tracker with the tracks “Bastille” and “Montmartre”. Both
tracks are in a way clonk groovers with occasional peaks that set the floor on fire.
Blessed with a good deal of understatement and an extraordinary feeling for the groove
they manage to have a big effect with seemingly few sounds.
The a-side track “Bastille” is a a true fat prime time rocker that fills the air with bass and
sequences that make Italy legend Alexander Robotnik come alive. Whereas the flipside
track “Montmartre” is more specialised and connects psychedelia with pop.

Italian electro producer Maurizio Dami, often credited as being the godfather of
Italo-disco, is back on Endless Flight with the first incredible single from his
la(te)st album ‘ My La(te)st Album’.
A1 ‘Disco Sick’ is a retro/futurist electro track, with reverse loop percussion
shuffling a simple synth melody, dramatised by thick sci-fi pads. A vocoded hook
narrates ever intensifying moaning synths and hi-end cymbals which ride out on
a cloud of sustained atmospherics.
A2 ‘Disco Sick (Robotnick remix) takes the track a lot deeper, with pulsing bass
and clattering percussion opening up into a faster and more chaotic house
adaptation of his original.
On the B side, ‘Disco Sick (Tensnake remix)’ takes us straight to a scene out of
Miami Vice, with funked up bass synth and resonant chimes characterising an icy
slick interpretation of Alexander’s original, paying homage to his classic electro
roots.

Elektrochemie has been called a “super-group”; its ranks consisting of the highly respected producer Thomas Schumacher and the bewitching, galvanizing vocal presence of Caitlin Devlin; but unlike most super-groups, Elektrochemie is at least the sum of its formidable parts, and its gift to us is sophisticated and heavy-hitting dancefloor music with a human heart – albeit a heart flecked with ice. The ‘Get Yourself’ EP is Elektrochemie’s third offering for Get Physical, following the incredibly well-received ‘Pleasure Seeker’, ‘Don’t Go’ and ‘Mucky Star’ 12”s. Opening track ‘Faking’ begins in lulling, opiated fashion, flirting with spaced-out tom sounds before a fierce kickdrum arrives to really get the (techno) show on the road. Caitlin’s voice, at once sinister and enticing, advises us to “move into it, be done with all that superficial shit”, and as Stephan and Thomas work the percussion, jotting around the beats with pitch-shifting analogue basslines and hissing hi-hats, you’ll be unable to resist ‘Faking’’s breathless forward momentum.

It cannot be said that Susana and Rebeca have a background that is consistent with being musicians – one a customising fashion designer and the other a geneticist – not exactly a typical start to a career in music. But they have always shared a great passion for it since before meeting as students in Madrid where they had weekend jobs in the city’s club scene. Immediately recognising their strong similarities they became best of friends. From there they went on to play at the Gigolo party at Sonar and receive and invitation from DJ HELL to join the Gigolo family. And now they bring you their first mix CD for International Deejay Gigolo Records.
This is the second DJ mix by women on Gigolo this year (following PRINCESS SUPERSTARs American Gigolo 3 in January) so it’s fair to say the Gigolettas are doing it for themselves! LE CHIC sure know how to mould a DJ set so as to keep you entertained for a good hour. They have learned the skills behind the decks and have captured that energy perfectly on Le Mix. The pace is relentless throughout this incredible mix compilation: from start to finish it is packed with bomb tracks and not once does it let up. LE CHIC have managed to capture a fine party mix and have done the Gigolo name proud. You can be sure they have a long and successful DJ career ahead of them – anyone who hears this mix is gonna want to check them out live in the club.

Matt John is back with a new stunning piece of minimal techno. Stretching over more than eleven minutes, ”Olga Dancekowski“ is another psychedelic journey through the hypnotic sounds of Mr.John, where little bleepy sequences accumulate a twisted impact for the eager souls on the floor. Following the big success of their debut release “Metro Gold” Berlin based resident DJ of
Bar 25 Red Robin and Format B member Jakob Hilden have come up with a very hitty and
unorthodox big production as a follow up.
The two club tracks of the upcoming “Tales EP” are straightforward and reduced to the
essentials. Made out of pure power.
“Lazy Jack” the a-side is another monster of a track. It holds the dark Berlin side of Techno,
with its droning noises and delays. It reminds us a bit of Chicago techno house at it’s best,
but this is just one facetted of the track. It get´s it´s other enthusiastic crazy over the top and
emotional side from the whistle melody which sets in half way through the track.
This leading sequenced is such a catchy tune that it´s sure to be heard in all mayor Berlin
clubs and eventually all around the globe.
The b-side track “Tin Soldier” is a marching techno tune, with a cool slight swing
programming in the rhythm and drugged out chords. Creating a ghost town atmosphere,
transforming the Club into another “Futureworld”.

Following Conditions”, by Abe Duque, takes in sounds from glitch and house. The B-side track “Outlook” is a hard minimal number ideal for those late hours when there’s no going back (at least not until sunrise).
For ABE DUQUE music is very much a labour of love. He’s one of those guys who couldn’t stop making music if he wanted to.DUQUE’s lengthy discography charts a highly productive career as a recording artist over the last fifteen years. From his roots in Hollis, New York, the man first rose to recognition under his KIRLIAN alias. He soon made connections with Munich based label Disko B and is a long term honourary of DJ HELL’s International Deejay Gigolos for whom he did the American Gigolo 2 mix last year. Following 2004′s acclaimed So Underground It Hurts, ABE DUQUE’s new solo album When The Fever Breaks has also won acclaim from all sides. This single includes exclusive extended new mixes of two of the hottest tracks from said album. While Following Conditions takes in sounds from glitch and house, B-side track Outlook is a hard minimal number ideal for those late hours when there’s no going back (at least not until sunrise). Although the hard straight beat at the core of Outlook proves misleading as the track goes on to develop on beautiful jazzy xylophone melodies. While the music is without a doubt prime, its still not clear if ABE named the tune after his email program. With ABE’s own label doing so well – recent releases from himself, GENARRO LE FOSSE and the RANCHO RELAXO ALLSTARS – it is sweet that Sir DUQUE still finds time for an exclusive vinyl release on Gigolo, label of his long-term friend and colleague DJ HELL, with which he has been so closely affiliated since word go. ABE DUQUE has released on Disko B, Gigolo, Mille Plateaux and Crosstown Rebels. He has remixed the likes of HELL, CHEMICAL BROTHERS, PET SHOP BOYS and KRAFTWERK and worked with RICHARD DORFMEISTER, PATRICK PULSINGER and JIMMY TENOR (on RANCHO RELAXO’s). He has the rare talent as an artist of being liked by pretty much everyone.

Of the continuing themes found throughout the music released on Minus, one constant exploration is the relationship between sound and silence. The act of finding inspiration from a sonic molecule or the inaudible space around that element is the nature of “Expansion / Contraction”. Dubfire enters with the tremendous “Emissions”. This is his first track to be released on Minus and is the culmination of his gravitation towards the Minus sound cemented by a friendship over the years with label head Richie Hawtin. Gaiser again hits the mark with “Mute”, which captures the excitement of his storming live shows throughout 2007. Marc Houle continues his own musical expansion with “Porch”, while Plastikman’s “Risk Assessment” begins the contraction with a simmering builder of a track guaranteed to disconcert even the most sonically prepared of listeners. Heartthrob is right back on form and contributes the growling funk beast that is “Roundabout”.

Still an insiders´ tip, the young talent Massimo di Lena from Naples has made a big step
through signing in 2006 to Frankie Records, Archipel, Safari Electronique und Tic Tac Toe
Records.
He attracted the attention of Trapez when he was first approached to remix an Alex Under
track. The collaboration developed into a solo 12″, which will be released in December
2007 on Trapez.
Massi DL definitely is one of the gifted producers in the scene who can really animate
minimal techno with emotion and has an ear for new and different sounds.
His upcoming 12″ fits to Alex Under releases on Trapez, since they share the love
for rhythmic cascades and crazy sounds.
We can truthfully say the a-side track “Acidland” is one of the craziest minimal trax we

other does.

B. Wonderland
Acidland is for sure the one to go for!!

Mathew Leutwylers track “Jovencitas” is a perfect christmas-techno-groover, with heart
warming melodies and an melodic style which fits perfectly to our music on Traum.
The duo Joined Custody have delivered a stripped down rocker, maybe for people who like

“Voodoo People”.

Factor City Records
Four track compilation celebrating the 20th release of this excellent Barcelona label. First up are masterminds Undo & Vicknoise with what is quite a dreamy and melodic electrohouse track. Next up Sistema delivers a old-school techno jam with a simple synth melody that’ll transfix you for the length of the track. MouseUp manage to sound even more old-school with a slow paced techno track that bears resemblance to certain Carl Craig productions whilst finally Lontano’s contribution is the most minimal one of the bunch but still maintain’s the label’s knack for a good melody.
The SISTEMA track “Te Tazas” is our favourite. Sistema is no other than Manuel Ruiz, the man they call Ebola, veteran DJ and producer from the Barcelona scene and responsible of Neue Larmklassiker on the now defunct Minifunk label. A man of many aliases and musical personas, he has chosen Sistema for some of his most dancefloor-friendly material.

Sennh is a new face on the minimal techno horizon although he has been writing music for
some years now.
His 2-track release is a fusion of melody, sound and driving beats… creating a journey
which is sometimes deep and introspective and at other times joyful and wild. These two
worlds collide and result in a supernova of modern techno Traum is known for.
The a-side features “I am with you” a melodic track that breathes and feels alive, but is on
the other hand a real monster of a techno track with an unbelievable production.
The flipside track “Warm Frequencies” could also be on the a-side. It has more edges and
more electronic sounding sequences and an advanced beat construction than “I am with
you”. The track relies on a heavy off bassline and a melody which sounds as if it had been
pressed through the lips of a dozen penguins.
Sennh will record a follow up to this record for Traum.

Underworld
Discogs
After a five-year hiatus, Underworld return with an album that draws from across their past. With a mix of aggression and sunshine, they calculate syncopated, ricocheted beats against cleanly delineated textures and circumscribed melodies that have the cool of the 1980s New Romantic movement from which they originally sprang as Freur. Kraftwerk is in the DNA of their sound, but they’ve moved well past that, incorporating elements of hip-hop and industrial music into the mix. I wonder if Underworld’s later mix of poetic spoken-word songs affected Brian Eno’s recent work with poetry and music, because the influence seems to have boomeranged back in the vocal cadences of tracks such as “Ring Road.” Like some of Eno’s work, Karl Hyde’s frequently treated, monotone talk-singing vocals could have been time-shifted from a beat-poetry reading of the early ’60s. The only thing missing is the bongos. When his voice is processed, it merges as part of the sound field, but when his voice is relatively unaltered, as on “Good Morning Cockerel,” it just becomes tedious. The best tracks on Oblivion with Bells are also the most ambitious. “Crocodile” has some lovely, almost Gregorian harmonies, while “Beautiful Burnout” is an epic journey with broad synthesizer chords sweeping by like headlights before segueing into a joyfully ritualistic electro-percussion tribal workout. But after that pair of opening tracks, you have to wait until the very last piece, a long, trancey bit of psychedelic drift called “The Best Mamgu Ever,” to hear something more than unformed melodies and unstrung ideas. Underworld can reach higher ground.

Not many labels established in the 90s have managed to achieve a consistent advancement without straying from their roots. Even less labels have managed to create a true brand thanks to their very own aesthetic of sound and artwork that is loved and respected by DJs and producers around the globe.
Sender Records is one of these labels. Being brought on the air by Benno Blome in Cologne in 1999, it has 69 catalogue numbers so far – presenting old skool legends like A Guy Called Gerald or Baby Ford, rave-pros like Misc. and Jake Fairley or young talented artists like Bloody Mary and Andre Crom.
Thanks to hits like Bond & Blomes ‘Tentacular’, the past year has been a very good one for the Berlin-based imprint. There is always a place for Sender Records in the charts and cases of countless DJs, also hardly one issue of the Groove Magazine can make it without a Sender release in its Top 50 charts.
So it is time for a topical work feature around the label! Wearing the fitting title From Antenna to Antenna 1, it contains a 17-track-CD mixed and compiled by label-head Benno Blome with a best-of from recent releases that have been released previously only on vinyl and with four previously unreleased tracks.
The mix starts with elegant spheric sounds and deep grooves and slowly escalates with Miscs Tanz der Polymere in the Hemmann and Kaden Remix, before And Again aka Someone Else has his turn with his unmistakable beats, followed by the frisky sequences of Bond & Blomes Tentacular, fierce synth-excesses by Error Error, skew hooks on Corbera, the bass-orgy Boita Musiq and loads of more Sender-highlights. The end is built on the timeless layers of Baby Fords Messenger Vox and Radaar Menue by WeltZwei.
With From Antenna to Antenna 1 Benno Blome presents the status quo of the label and its full bandwidth in a narrative way.

Sun Electric is to ambient music what The Sex Pistols is to punk music. But since electronic abandoned the pathetic poses of rock music, nobody had to die to make this unique band history. Sun Electric members Tom Thiel and Max Lodenbauer dissolved in other projects, tearing out an insatiable piece of the map of electronic music.
Sun Electric is regarded as innovators of ambient music – or electronic listening music or intellegent dance music – depending on what you prefer of the empty tokens of music journalism. After electronic music exploded in the late eighties/ early nineties, the music seemed more or less to be restricted to forming the heartbeat of homogeneous party crowds. Like The Orbs Dr. Alex Paterson, Loderbauer and Thiel realised the music to be more than that. They allowed the sounds to detach themselves from the action on the dance floor to lead a life by themselves.

Fuckpony, the American Jay Haze, now living in Berlin, picks up the origins of electronic dance music and transfers it into great minimal music. “Lady Judy” is a great Bpitch Control release.
The first lady of house music, Lady Judy, may be known to many of you who frequent Fabric. Her legendary staying power has inspired not one or two but three producers – namely Berliner American Jay haze & London’s own Matt Styles (Crosstown Rebels) and current hot producer Jamie Jones to dedicate this twelve to her – in fact “to the ultimate raver who got the funk”! Inspired by the classic “Baby Judy” from DBX on Accelerate, Detroit – the voice on “Lady Judy” is the one and only Lil Dirrty Ghetto Bastard. The Ex-Street-Hustler, now House MC and Rapper from Philly who has appeared on records such as Samim’s huge “House Nation”.That his voice sounds distorted like being on laughing gas is not just a coincidence – it’s inspired by everyone’s darling Judy whose love for that special gas is notorious. Anyone with a balloon beware!

Magda, Troy Pierce and Marc Houle’s occasional label Items & Things makes a welcome return, featuring four more superlative grooves from Marc Houle, Kasper, Thrill Cosby and Alexi Delano. The label was created as an outlet for the weird, experimental and beautiful sounds the trio often come across on their travels and “Spies & Lies” fits the bill perfectly, containing music that will stimulate, overwhelm and confound in equal measures.

The new Lausanne / Berlin based avant-garde label MINIMOOD releases a stunning debut 001 featuring foundsound co-head FUSIPHORM and vidab’s KOLJAH. The GREEN CHOCOLATE EP unleashes a high-quality triple serving of dextrous and sophisticated minimal click alchemy.
FUSIPHORM’s a1 ‘green chocolate’ lays down an early solid foundation by intertwining a pulsating bassline with minimal chipped beats to create a driving shuffling rhythm. As the suspense builds up, the track suddenly explodes into a grizzling, throbbing dance floor monster. Huge. Intergalactic in fact!
With ‘mister blue’ on b1, FUSIPHORM moves into deeper territory as he takes you on a journey through a bubbling industrial post-digital landscape. Chopped percussive slices and syncopated skittering hats bounce off undeniable underbeats, which together form an alchemic partnership with the haunting, insistent melody. The industrial glitches seamlessly give way to a warped new world blend of dubbed out bells and echoing wood blocks. Moody, dextrous and quite simply, unavoidable!
KOLJAH really gets down to business on b2 with his exploding cake recipe for how to make cake from green chocolate. A ‘how to make the crowd scream at primetime’-tool! Essential!

Detect looks good, deejays perfectly, and produces incredible music. Yes, Detect is most definitely a great representation of the new french electronic scene. Whether it’s by creating dancefloor bombs for Mental Groove, smoking instrumental hiphop jewels for his Bande à Part project on Corso Fleuri Editions or controlling the turntables for rap groups Klub des Losers and Klub des 7, Detect always takes you on a trip you are bound to remember.

The a side track “Musik Bringt Freundschaft” meaning “Music Brings Friendship” is a joyful and emotional minimal house mover with cool breakdowns and melodic sequences. The track has a cool way of being clubby without putting a stranglehold on the clubber or dictating moves. The track is very airy and follows a nice collective spirit with melodies running up and down and plenty of breaks to collect energy to rave.”Man Alive! on the flipside is more classic and definitely a more tight minimal house track. B1 Glass Computer (Mark August remix)
B2 Noedrocca
About the release :
Introduced by James Holden, Lucy (Curle rec) is a new italian talent based in Paris. And he comes up here with a very Strong release!
On the A side, the amazing Glass computer (co-produced with friends) is an odyssey into electronic music and catchy beat. 7 minutes of happiness and emotion for the crowd.
After his wonderful last release on our label, Masaya (Perspectiv / Num rec) makes the dub and he looks like a trip into a deep forest with his minimal tribal bassline, trough the tree at the night. Simply wonderful.
On the flip side the Amsterdam based Mark August (Poker Flat, Connaisseur, Curle, Mezzotinto), is making one of the best remix for ages. With his unique touch Mark takes us by the hand into his very personal universe. Funk, magic deepness and killer break out, this is one the best remix you will hear this year, no doubt!
At the b2 floor, you will find the second original track from Lucy “Noedrocca”. Sweetness is our weekness. This is like a conversation with an angels.
Coming next: our Family tree compilation, including only new materials from Agnès, Quenum, Chaton, Mark August, Minz, Ndru, Masaya, Daria, and Quarion!

Following their debut 12″ “She” on Traum and their superb remix of Dominik Eulberg´s
“Grünschenkel” Super Flu reveal with “Momratzn” that they definitely have their own style.
Felix Thielemann und Mathias Schwarz aka Super Flu from Halle belong to the fine
selection of artist in the east part of Germany who have achieved international success
without claiming the Berlin bonus.
Their a-side track “Momratzn” is in a way a living creature expanding and contracting,
constantly changing it’s shape and substance. To put it in different words: the track is a
musical journey into melodies, delays and let´s say the secret post trance society.
A fairytale with a bit of romance, fictitious but also well aware of the club world out there…
always saying hello and then disappearing in to the artistic and musical neighbourhood.
The flipside track “Sambalg” is rhythmical reduced version of what Super Flu offer on
the a-side. The track is a bass heavy DJ tool with clonks, delays and jacking crazy rhythms
that don´t stop! Time seems to stand still when jack goes to work. Peeking through holes of
wisdom… what we see is a jerking and whirling statue.

After releasing the two EP´s “Bar 123″ and “Simple” on Trapez and later several on
Crosstown Rebels, 3 Channels return with two peak time tracks on Trapez.
“It’s gettin’ kinda hectic” is a polyrhythmic heavy monster, with lots of clonks and drugged out vocals, all making it a prime time rocker for bigger dance floors.
The track has a fantastic build up, slowly but steadily marching towards the climax.
The flipside track “Incoming” is much lighter, but has more drive to it. The track
incorporates a strong Latin feel which sticks to it until the end.
It will definitely appeal to the more funk attracted crowd.

Lucio Aquilina´s new track “Feeling Plastik” is just stripped down so cruel… it makes your ears bleed. It is a track you can feel but hardly describe. There is nothing to lay your hands on, but the euphoria which breaks through like a bush fire. At the end there is nothing left but a levelled piece of earth.
In contrast “Squared Circle” on the flip side is a funky light hearted groove machine, the pressure has gone and happiness rules. The track jamms away in a very cool style and percussive way.

CSM returns after the summer break with Dave Turovs Deductive EP, his solo debut for the imprint he has managed for owner John Selway since 2005. CSM015 follows successful remixes for CSM, Clink, and original music for Detroits Moodgadet . Since relocating from New York to Berlin in 2003, Dave has found success as a DJ, M event producer in clubs like Watergate and WMF, label manager, artist and producer.
CSM015 is a fresh and definitive interpretation of the labels sound and direction. Dave clearly shows his musical background as a drummer with spontaneously sharp rhythmic syncopations and keen awareness of timing and feel, while his DJ background provides the influence to keep the arrangement and sounds tailored for a throbbing dance floor.
The two tracks presented by Turov show the light and the dark side of CSM. Inference is a deep and warm musical fusion of house and techno, simultaneously classic and hypermodern. Conclusion is driving, hypnotic techno which is positively destined for peak time action. The balance of styles on this release should allow it to easily find a place in any forward thinking DJs selection.

Dejan Galic lives in the Netherlands and has recorded his debut 12″ on the legendary R&S label from Belgium some months ago. Dejan´s first release on Traum celebrates the comeback of Belgian techno! “Abbey Draught” has the motion of a revolving massive black planet. A club track for the late hours with an enormous feeling for dynamics and last but not least with an huge production. “Coup de Coeur”, a steam hammer of a techno track. It reduces the melodic part to a melody played by bells deep inside the core of the tracks parameters. The kick drums hammering away with basslines creating a vacuum of a pressure cooker!

Back in the days, at the end of 1994, Harthouse released the sophomore effort of Hardfloor´s “RESPECT” – following in the footsteps of their debut album “TB Resuscitation”. While resuming and and refining the sound of the first longplayer, the second album continued the success story of the debut “TB Resuscitation” (06/1993) as well as the 12”-releases “Acperience EP” and “Transcript” which then where key for the rising wave of Acid Trance. Over the years, all Hardfloor productions were defined by the distinctive 303 sound – or even by simultaneously using three synchronized 303s. With the artwork of the first Hardfloor releases, Oliver Bondzio and Ramon Zenker tribute to the visual artists who had strongly influenced the creation and development of their unique sound. February 2002 sees the long-awaited re-release of “RESPECT” on CD and double vinyl – which Ramon Zenker carefully re-mastered. As a bow before their fan base, the CD contains two bonus tracks: “Mahagony Roots” (Work Remix) and “Kangaroos & Bubbles” (Armando’s Darkside Mix). Watch out – this addictive acid may corrode your ear-drums!

The first part of the „The Life We Choose“ album series starts with the 9 minutes long acid-monster: „The Trill Acid Theme“.
„Swiffer“ is dominated by a hypnotic acid line, which is corrupted by interfering effects. „Melorec“ is based on influences of HARDFLOOR`s side project DDPNP, melodic 303 lines, but here
they come in the context of the typical HARDFLOOR groove. All things considered this is Hardflooracid at it’s best!

The 2nd part of the “The Life We Choose” Album series starts with “Who You Gonna Call?” The track is built on a melodic 303 acid line, which, followed by two more 303s, results in a complete acid trip. “The Life We Choose” is compelling, with its 117 bpm Electro-Groove, strong bassline combined with a hypnotic acid line, right up to the triumphant string finale. “Itz Ok (Club Mix)”: sombre, expressive vocals mixed with acid beats make one thoughtful, despite enjoying the whole package in a “Hardfloor will survive” club mix! The young, talented British producer and DJ Johnny Arthur has been chosen for DJmag’s “Gotta be big” feature.
“I’ve listened to lots of young DJs during my time as Editor of DJ Magazine, but Johnny Arthur has something special.
A real talent with the potential to go stellar.” (Lesley Wright)
Johnny has his own superb bi-monthly club night Chicken Nickers at The Key, London and has played there alongside Paul Woolford, Jennifer Cardini, Martin Landsky, Ellen Allien, Alex Smoke and Magda.
Johnny’s ‘Evil Edna’ tune was released on Kill Brique last March, with a remix from Music Man’s Deetron.
He reveals more of his talent with the “Johnny Hates Jazz” and “Red Planet” Tracks out on MBF now as a digital release only.
“Johnny Hates Jazz” is a monster of a production and will do good on the floors since it combines Johnny´s sensitiveness for new music and essential good studio work he was trained in.
The deeper track “Red Planet” works with a nice build up. The dynamics will especially please people that like melodies in techno.

What started with a little side note quickly became one of the hottest issues in all kind
of different media: The ducks had disappeared. First, scientists proposed several rather
exotic hypotheses, but finally geneticists came up with a useful explanation: actually, the
DNA of this animal provided a useful hint. It looked as if a collective order had been
ready to be called off from their genetic material. And now, after thousands of years,
something must have triggered it, maybe an electric impulse or an acoustic signal.
Sebastian Riedl aka Basteroid started his music career in 2000 when he founded the
label Areal Records together with his two friends Michael Schwanen (Metope) and
Matthias Klein (Konfekt/Welt Zwei) – a good basis for all his future releases.
Apart from his work released on Sender Records and a number of remixes, he is also
performing live all around the world spreading his unmistakeable sounds among the
people. The distinctive Areal artwork is also all Sebastian’s work.
On his first album ‘Upset Ducks’ he allows free play to all the different music styles that
he is influenced by. The result is a happy mix of trance, funk, rock, gongs and bangs. An
amazing combination of styles cleverly brought together in the spirit of rave! Half of this
record was created in Schaerding /Upper Austria, where the whole duck population
regularly gets upset (that’s where the title comes from), by one track in particular, but
also by the rest of this record. Poor duckies

Right in time for the start of the summer new tracks by Tomas Andersson.
This time he goes down to business hard style again.
After his last tracks that were rather playful, allmost discolike, he now plays
around in the hard techno corner.
On “Upwardly Mobile” different synth lines bounce like they were in a competition
against each other, partly pick up the melody, partly alter it.
Now and then this great elephant-blows his nosesound is thrown in between.
This is a track Tomas kept in his drawer for almost 2 years.
It originally was a 18 minutes piece that he didn’t feel like working on. But recently
he just got down with it and made this great version out of it.
“Ofullständige Rättigheter” is hard Techno indeed and perfect for all the upcoming
outdoor raves and afterhours. Especially now, where Berlin’s famous club “Tresor”
reopened again!
The track title is a Swedish word-joke. In Sweden, really low-class restaurants for
drunks often advertise in very BIG letters in the window that they have
Fullständiga Rättigheter (Full Rights) which means that they are allowed to sell Beer,
wine AND Liquor! Woohoo!
“Ofullständig” means the opposite and is an allusion to the new Swedish right wing
covernment that wants to tighten notonly those restrictions.

After his telling contribution to the recent JPLS long player Twilite, the magnificently named Skoozbot get his very own release on Plus8.
The original version of Next To Monchhichi is an exercise in raw, stripped down tech-funk. Penned in by a raucous kick / snare pattern reminiscent of Phuture’s ‘We are Phuture’. The reverberating bassline is all over you in seconds, with subtle variations that lock straight into the groove. The main percussive lead then gate-crashes the proceedings and heads straight for the bar, serving up a potent cocktail together with the distorted, shuffling hihat pattern that gives the track some real bite. Sure enough, the electric interplay between these carefully nurtured sounds will have you dancing over hot coals as Skoozbot takes the party on to the next level.
Which is where Adam Beyer comes in. The bassline is deeper, the beats are set to warp speed and the percussive bleeps this time occupy the outfield. Nevertheless Beyer stays refreshingly true to the art of the remix, twisting the original sounds ever so slightly and embellishing the arrangement with a little extra studio trickery to increase the pressure, but still retains the basic structure and never loses sight of the intent of the original. Paco Osuna is also on hand, ruffing up the original with an edgy two note sliding bassline and filtered variations of the main riff. The hihats and snare rolls rain down relentlessly on the dancefloor before the track opens out into a cavernous breakdown and the main percussive motif is tweaked to oblivion.
The vinyl also includes A Fistful Of Duckets – it’s a cool, electro flavoured workout with an earthy bassline and skipping beats but don’t be fooled – there’s a deadly sting in its tail. The two additional digital download tracks that make up the release are also very much worth their weight in zeros and ones. Lemma3 and Lost both represent trademark mid west techno with deep, dark suspended basslines and powerful low slung grooves that are topped off by twisted reverse vox fx and more infectious, skipping percussion sequences.
////
Just when you thought it was safe to venture back on to the dancefloor, that strange guy with the sunken eyes and scary voice is up to his old tricks again!
Cleverly combining black humour with reduced micro-grooves, the title track from Ambivalent’s R U OK EP has become one of the most memorable tunes of the year to date, with the bonus accapella version coming in particularly handy during the messier parts of an evening. It’s only right then, that it reappears remixed and revamped for a fresh onslaught over the summer season.
Marco Carola offers up two versions of stripped down metronomic tech-funk. The 2beats remix is full of metallic, sliding efx and a pulsing subsonic bassline that keeps the track rolling forward while the 4beat remix takes everything up a level with a stronger kick, busy percussion parts and an altogether more urgent, peak time vibe.
Contrastingly, the Like It Or Not mix from Troy Pierce is a typically murky ride, with a scuttling 6/8 acid bassline that’s ripe for the after-afterhour. Dark as f**k, it plays with the cut-up vocal elements drenching them in a heavy reverb during this descent into the inferno. The Kasper is Okay mix keeps the tension at a maximum as the hypnotic percussive groove falls victim to the needle sharp hookline that slowly envelops the proceedings before drilling straight into your cerebral cortex.
The trademark JPLS elastic bass is in full effect on the 12mg Remix. The vocals are rinsed out beyond recognition and a tight hihat/snare pattern keeps the warped, original synth line in check as it drifts across the sparse, alien landscape. The Paco Osuna’s WMC Remix is the kind of hi octane affair we’ve come to expect – full of twisted bleeps and machine gun snare rolls, everything works towards the almighty breakdown that sends shock waves across the dancefloor.
…and if that’s not enough, check out the deep, bass heavy version from Tim Xavier and Camea. With cool, subliminal fx and jarring claps that resonate into the darkness as the kick drum motors onward, it’s raw techno at it’s best.

Essentially a special one off live set, the new continuous play False LP ’2007′ defines Dear’s relationship with Minus. Together with the accompanying vinyl release of Fed On Youth / Face The Rain he has concocted a work of such stunning intricacy, verve and substance that it will surely be in amongst the favourites when this year’s highlights are assessed.
The opening sequence unfurls gradually but even as the ominous Indy 3000 drifts into the metronomic comfort of Meat Me In The Markt you can already feel the gravitational pull sucking you in. The electro shock therapy of Warm Co. and the pensive minimalism of Timing and Alright Liar continue turning the screw and before you know it you’re lost in a void of slow chugging sub-beats, filtered vox fx and dense, disorienting reverbs. Distant melodies somehow make it through, like the soft, meditative tones on Plus Plus and the melancholy motif of Face the Rain, which leaves you temporarily frozen and suspended before the energetic Dollar Down ushers in the pivotal, subsonic avalanche of Disease/George Washington.
The album starts to gather momentum on the home stretch. The tension and suspense of Act Like Children/Excalibur roll into In The Heather which in turn breaks under the weight of Fed On Youth as Dear finally unleashes a sequence of laser guided synth stabs that recall the hi-octane drive-by of the intro. Stomachs/Ankle Biter extends the climactic conclusion amid a wash of analogue white noise before Forgetting finally releases the pressure valve, slowly drifting back to the initial point of origin.
What is so memorable about this collection of tracks is the way it strikes the perfect balance between abstract experimentation and full on techno nirvana without ever breaking stride or losing focus. Dear is an artist you can trust to deliver. There’s nothing brash or over blown here, all the real action is nestled between the beats – enticing yet unreachable – while the grooves he concocts are all so earthy and raw that the kick drum functions as an alternative rather than a necessity.

Fire can be extinguished, water however always find its way. The element characterizes the attitude of the Electronic-Label Meerestief from Stuttgart. It must flow. The launch of the label, once still like a youthful, wildly cavorting rill, Meerestief has become today a wide, straight river with huge power. Nice critics in music magazines and contributions on compilations like the current Time Warp mix-cd by Loko Dice evoke international respect. The first label compilation is now to be applied with ”Wassermusik”. The high output of late-breaking and partly still unreleased Meerestief releases with further up to date favourites of the label owner Walter Ercolino and Daniela Stickroth are integrated on it. Inhouse-Tracks like ”Ronan’s BBQ” by Five Green Circle ( in the XHIN Remix ), Kabale & Liebe ( in the Pheek Rmx ), James What and of course also by Stickroth & Ercolino, are skillfully linked with tracks and rmxs by Steve Bug, Extrawelt, Ripperton, Minilouge, Martin Landsky or Miss Yeti. Also interesting the formation of ”Wassermusik”: The tracks were mixed classical and analogical, and later individually processed into pro tools and provided with effects and samples. In between, sound extracts of further Meerestief tracks were interlaced. ”Wassermusik” reflects very well the sound philosophy. Because also music itself needs room and time to unfold powerfully. Minimal on the surface, wide in depth.

Matthew Dears Asa Breed finds the Detroit-based electronic artist achieving new artistic heights its more robust, more accessible, and yet still undeniably Matthew Dear. Incorporating his uniquely crafted textures alongside international rhythmic influences, plus a lyrical storytelling element from his Texas upbringing, Asa Breed is a completely unique musical experience.
Since his debut at the decade’s beginning, Matthew Dear has been championed as North America’s brightest new electronic talent. His 2003 debut, Leave Luck To Heaven, garnered unequivocal praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Spin and Entertainment Weekly, and in the period since, Dear has conquered the international techno scene under the alias of Audion. But when it came time to return to his roots, there was only one path to take. With each track on this album, Dear tells a unique story about life and human relationships with his rich baritone voice and fusion of live and electronic instruments. In sum, Asa Breed represents a new feeling and a more expansive look into the psyche of an artist coming into his own.

Disco Toni is a handsome guy hanging out too long, too often and too xxx at your local discotheque. A lost super hero of an extreme soap opera of nowadays’ tvmusicfilmyellowpress daily life. Dirty, sexy, extreme, a shining star with the voice of an angel named Corinna Vidic. Magnum 38 wrote a musical portrait of this bright personality. A techno/electro thing that will burn everything and everybody wherever it will be played – no matter if it’s a big rave hall with 4000 people or a drugged out after hour in a small club. With its gnarzy breakbeats and its deepness it’s rave and pop at the same time, but most of all it’s a monster, monster, monster.
Play it!!
Novamute superstars Motor deliver an ass kicking 4 to the floor remix. They seem to be trying to push Toni in a straighter outfit, but that doesn’t really work: Too strong his body, too strange his mind, the 4 to the floor version of Motor stays twisted!
And who is Magnum 38:
Almost ten years ago after playing in a couple of notorious punk and rock outfits Oliver Greschke decided to exchange his old guitar for a good sound card and to free himself from all the compromising that comes with being just one single piece (however large it may be) in that puzzle called a band or a group. He wanted to be one solid monolith, a weapon on his own and all by himself.
With his mostly breakbeat solo productions under the alias Magnum 38 he has then been part of the Shitkatapult label family right from the start and released two eps and a few compilation contributions on this label and its sub label Musick.
After months of losing himself in experimentalism and reaktor patches, after taking journeys into minimal house and nerdy abstract tracks Oliver Greschke aka Magnum 38 has now finished his first solo album that will be released on Musick in August. Stay tuned!

Hailing from Northamptonshire, a county full of towns too small to reach that critical mass where life will be created, but big enough for a Woolworths and a vicious be shirted bastard on every corner, Twisted Charm use sax, new wave dance inflections and a fraught insistence to expunge the frustrations that see the within provincial life, and create their own dark reality.
On “Boring lifestyles”, the band depicts their own life in Northamptonshire, transporting us in an environment between Electro and saturated rock.
South central that have made their name so far giving the likes of shitdisco, metronomy and the maccabees big, ofer us a Disco/ house remix perfectly tuned for electrising the Dancefloor…But the remix is our absolute favourite.

In Paris right now, it seems the kids can’t get enough of dancing to the synthesizer music, the harder and darker the better. There is even a scene of a sort, that includes Justice, french famous record label Kitsune, Digitalism, SebastiAn as well as seminal electro disto-king Mr Oizo. It buzzes, but in a nasty way that makes your stomach feel funny, and for a lot of people makes your feet want to move. So, new to the scene in 2006 is this young man, DJ and producer datA from the outskirts of Paris, who says he likes “Michael Jackson, Jean-Michel Jarre, Daft Punk, Chroméo, Jamie Lidell, Pharrell Williams and Midnight Star” – sounds like a reasonable swath of pop goodness. His first single J’aime pas l’art has been critically acclaimed in France, rated #36 single of 2006 by French pop cult mag Les Inrocks. His remixes and production have already been playlisted by Justice, Pedro Winter, Guns n’ bombs (Kitsuné), Benjamin Diamond (Stardust/Diamond Traxx), Ajax (Modular), Pitchfork Media… 4 tracks on this fresh EP, already a classic!

Up & coming French artist PacoVolume aka Turbo Crystal drops his debut Tiny Sticks release early next month (11th June). His mix of punk funk & ghetto rock has already won him praise and plaudits both sides of the channel and beyond. The two tracks on the single, ‘French Girl’ & ‘Another Glass’, are also remixed by the mighty Escort and Bear Funk’s Fabrizio Mammarella.

HEADPHONE KARAOKE is the very very glam project initiated by Eric Labbé and Charlotte Miquel. A couple generously convert in his faith in a radical and happy clubbing, with a certain tendency to fire dancefloors. They have played for more than two years in many European clubs, always raising the same enthusiasm.
They are also engaged, particularly through Act Up, in the struggle for decriminalization of drug use. Eric has written a certain number of articles and research which place him today as an interlocutor recognized by professionals and authorities.
Their first EP begin with a catchy and hynotic song perfectly suitable for the dancefloor, and more. This track is deep with a raw, druggy bassline — mixed with sexy ‘explicit’ vocals.
The second is a serious peak time, with a cocktail of dark underground beats, fat bassline, digital wildlife effects and a sexy, distorted vocal hook that rides the groove effortlessly.
On the flip-side ‘Last night a dealer saved my life’ is remixed by well-known genevan electro house veteran plastique de reve, whose successfull tracks & remixes could be heard on various labels like gigolo, turbo, viking, wmf or mental groove. He reworks this deep tune based on his own words into a tracky, acidified funky dj tool.
We had warned you …

The Berlin duo consist of Red Robin aka Till Robin Hennecke und Jakob Hilden. Both have a career going in Berlin. Robin has already recorded a 12″ for Platzhirsch. He is an upcoming DJ and resident in the legendary after hour club “Bar 25″, home of extreme parties with Richie Hawtin and friends. Jakob Hilden, half of the techno project Format B is a well known producer who has played live on many occasions in and outside of Berlin.
As Format B he has recorded records for Highgrade, Stil Vor Talent and Opossom.
Together they have come up with a straight but powerful 2 tracker. The a-side track “Dandelion” has the drive of a steam engine counteracted by percussive drugged out sequences and staccato melodies. As we understand it, it is a true Berlin tune.
The flipside comes with the track “Snapdragon” that works stronger with sequenced rhythmic melodies and abstract hook lines. Both tracks are extremely clubby and a show off a lot of knowledge and experience for the physical aspect in club music/techno and how to rock a crowd. Metro Gold will just be the beginning for them on Trapez ltd.

This 12″ comes with two remixes of Dominik Eulberg´s recent hit track “Die Grünschenkel
im blauen Priel”. One by a man in demand, 2000 And One aka Dylan Hermelijn and one
by Traum´s new mega talented duo Super Flu.
2000 And One is a person with an enormous history. He belongs to the initiators of techno
in the Netherlands, recorded under the name of Edge of Motion, being a mayor force on
Djax Up besides Terrace and started his own label in 1992. His strong comeback some
years ago was supported by Carl Craig, Richie Hawtin and Sven Väth and others from the
top of the German techno scene.
Being a huge fan of Dominik Eulberg, he flew at the opportunity to remix his new tune.
2000 And One elevated the sequence triggered minimal track and stripped it down to a
long intro containing the original sequence, slowly introducing a funky, super groove into
the main sequence and adding small sounds… he has made it a prime time mega mover!
Reduced to the essentials and pumped up in a big way, this track will do damage!
On the flipside we find a mind-boggling wonderful tricky remix by Traum newcomers
Super Flu. The duo has just released a remarkable debut 12″ and has now been given the
chance to remix Traum´s top man Dominik Eulberg.
The remix has the quality of a great James Holden track as Dominik put´s it, with an
dynamic constantly shifting, never at ease… always alert and rocking in all situations.
Super Flu are super talents which they have already proven with their own tracks and this
remix out on Traum.

6 years after their last release (the known cult « first album » on Gigolo), Miss Kittin & The Hacker are back on goodlife with two brand new tracks: Hometown is a classic electro pop track and DIMANCHE is a ten minutes acid live track for the late night or early morning clubbers .
listen to the tracks on Goodlife records here!
////
Tinitus Pärt (Feliks Thielemann) & Mathias Schwarz are Super Flu! They are in the true
sense of the word wizards! Their ability to lend tracks a feeling that neutralises gravitation
is unique. An invisible and flexible bond seems to exist, linking the different aspects of
techno music.
The two tracks “She” and “Tripple Mapple” on their stunning first release create a similar
energy as Nathan Fake´s “Dinamo”, but have a stronger “fusion” character. The duo
assimilates different styles such as techno and electronic music und fuses them in a musical
way that is breath taking! Both tracks make the transition from machine strength tightness
over acoustic sound cascades to melodies and still remain 100% clubby.
The tracks have an enormous flow to them, are adventurous, dive from heavy traffic of
sounds into a pool of quietness and ascent with dry keys! It seems like a “trip” or rather a
voyage or journey into another world. Contradictions, different levels of dynamic, all are
overcome through an great deal of musicality.
Still both track are not a mere construction of sound, but are full of joy, liveliness and
instinct for emotional music. They reveal that Tinitus Pärt & Mathias Schwarz are no
newcomers to the techno scene. Both of them have been producing music for some years
now. They have released a lot of remixes and some 12″s and work as DJs in Germany.
The “She” 12″ is a grand opener for records to come on Traum in the future and puts them
right next to a people such as James Holden, Dominik Eulberg, Minilogue, Extrawelt.
Last but not least it is important to mention: Super Flu do not limit their doings to music, but understand themselves as part of an “electronic lifestyle”.

The double Mix CD “Movement” holds a mix CD each of Martin Eyerer and Oliver Klein.
Martin Eyerer and Oliver Klein introduced their works to MBF with their stunning debut EP “Kairo” and the follow up “Tiflis” which is due on the 21st of May 2007. Oliver and Martin share a lot of the same ideas which lead to the project which is released exclusively onMBF.
Both artists have been successful in other genres of electronic dance music but now their focus lies on the minimal version of dance music.
Martin Eyerer started Djing in 1986. He experienced the early acid house days… and still owns his old Roland 303. But he made himself a name through remixing bands such as
Gus Gus, Delight, Simply Red, Cassius and through remixes for Ministry of Sound/UK.
DoC brings you a very special new release from one of it’s mainstay artists, Jambi.
Flat is a two track EP that offers to very unique and special tracks from the Jambeast. And how the Jambeast has already been busy! Jambi’s recent release for Dinky’s label, Horizontal, turned quite a few heads, with a track also appearing on the new TDK Time Warp mix cd by Loco Dice.
The Flat EP is a new direction for Jambi by combining his traditional sine and tom driven production with unique analog acid lead sounds and complex reverb automations.
There is never a dull moment to A Side “Cracked Ceiling”, whether you are jamming out with your ipod on the u-bahn or sweating buckets with your hands in the air at your discothèque of choice.
B Side “Dirty Carpet” is also a new direction for Jambi. Jambi brings his super deep percussion programming to create a modern hybrid with elements of the triplet driven sound of Cologne. This is a track that just won’t let you down. It’s
slowly building energy will either save the party when you need it or push it over the limit if you are almost there.
We would suggest you don’t let this record out of your case for a while. This EP is definitely a versatile choice for the fine dj.

Dachshund is now considered as the Geneva city’s techno scene top new comer but has a long experience in sound making. His love for music first led him to play in a reggae band and then dub happened to be the real revelation. He has also been a pioneer of the Geneva drum & bass scene and spent 10 years as a dnb dj, producer and promoter. Our favorite dog is not busy at doing nothing, oh no no no… The man comes again here with a wonderful 12 inches on Num Records. Ever grooving structures and rhythms are part of the dog’s arsenal, thus add the intelligent techno influences in his sound and the boy is striking hard once again. Shaking beats, dance appealing techno hooks, dubbed out basslines and a very detailed production are all the ingredients Dachshund is including in its best served hot in clubs food. Like Sascha Funke Paul Kalkbrenner benefits from his temporary stay in the South-French Aixen-Provence. Both producers work there tirelessly in their studio and enjoy “la vie francaise” along the way.
Paul’s new tracks are, as usual, first class techno burners.
“Altes Kamuffel” starts off with a soft and trancy synth line, almost romantic, is infiltrated by a straight beat and then goes off like BUM.The bass hits your stomach, the clap drills crisply into your sinuses and the high, playful synth warms up your heart. THE track for the peak of a clubnight.
“Ick muss aus dit Milieu heraus” (meaning “I gotta get out of this milieu”) on the opposite is there right away but nevertheless builds up continously. Even with a longer break in the middle of the track that gives you the chance to catch your breath, you can’t really stop – more, more, more … And the bassdrum again!
Beside this production, Paul is working intensively on the film music for his movie by Hannes Stoehr, in which he will also play the main character. He’ll start shooting this summer already!

We are really looking forward to this …
Release of the album “The Dark Heat Collection” 1 cd including new tracks and remixes by our favourites; Ellen Allien, Apparat, Playgroup St-Plomb…
Felix Da Housecat has been working with Kate, and we quote him; “I was real impressed with her because although she is a talented and impressive producer in her own right. She was willing to listen and work to improve with me. She’s real pretty and ambitious and for her to go with the vibe it was amazing. ‘Let Your Mind Be Your Bed’ is just the tip of the iceberg given her talent”.
New details on the project and her live shows will be with you very soon.
The youngest of 3 musical brothers, Matt Cavendar reluctantly earned the moniker ‘The Missing Link’ due to his ungainly posture and size 13 shoes; big shoes he has more than filled with his lauded releases on Mathew Jonson’s Wagon Repair and Seattle’s Depth Recordings.
Creating technical and glitchy techno, The Missing Link audibly draws influence from forward thinking 80′s bands like Cabaret Voltaire, Skinny Puppy and Nitzer Ebb, particularly present in last track ‘Unkle Bills Cabin’, which, with its nasty bass and marching pace, has an elementally heavy industrial edge.
‘Bur’ is the most breaky, abstract and busy cut on this record. While first track ‘Fishin’ is an experimental journey into IDM. A self prescribed ‘Audiographer’, here we are presented with a glitchy map of Matt’s vast sound collection, and a hint of what is yet to come from another Wagon Repair innovator.

The press release i maybe the strangest we ever read, but we like the tracks.
Industrial Minimal is the order of the day here as Metope leaves no prisoners on the dancefloors with this 2 tracker. “Braga” is our pick of the bunch for it’s immensely angry sound!
Press release: “Well”, the professor sighed, “my institute is prepared to face any global threat you can imagine:
gamma rays, radioactive contamination, viruses, basically all no problem”. However, the monster with
its world-wolfing tentacles hurtling at nearly the speed of light towards Earth was an entirely unforeseen problem.
“According to our measurements of the alien’s blood circulation, its heart seems to be marked in intervals of 16s, with a strong focus on the 5th and 13th heartbeat. “Maybe this is the reason for the sudden change of course”.
“Some really loud radio signal on our planet must have attracted the alien. Our agents are already searching for the originator throughout the world”.

Marco haas aka T.RAUMSCHMIERE is back home – with the “Random Noize Sessions Vol.1″- on his own label: shitkatapult.
The album features a collection of lost studio and live recordings from the past 9 years (1996-2005). musicwise these tracks follow the idea of the album on hefty records (chicago, 2002) dark ambient sounds, beats and pictures: random noize.
From the beginning to the applause-ending (from his ambient live set in duesseldorf church johanniskirche) this whole cd is a breathtaking movie, in best tradition of dark asian movies fighting the new minimal deal.
Titles like “in the ghetto”, “radikal mediation”, “die alte leier”, “der eisenwracktraum” or “neulich im bestattungs-discount” follow the general t.raumschmiere idea: you make mesick i make musick, special musick for special people.
After his major releases on Novamute, “Random Noize Sessions Vol.1″ does not appear as a new album – but as a missing link between his punk techno anti spectacle and his inner vision ambient musick.
traditional new musick footprints by heroes like robert hood or mike ink married to influences of great artists like coil or Steve albini.
free of any chic or trend idea, a random noize session is purely musick …the track “die alte leier”, the most clubbing track from the album has already been released on 12″vinyl (strike 79, die alte leier), including the wonderful old school techno track´s all about the leiere recorded by ALEX CORTEX and T.RAUMSCHMIERE in 1996 which is only available on this 12″ as b-side.
“The random noize sessions vol.1″ were mastered by CRISTIAN VOGEL using the Seperation Mastering Technology.

Hailing from Manchester, a town which symbolises the blend of guitars and machines, Siskid was given a classical musical education before making his first steps in the rock scene, then leaning towards the turntables. Know for his dark and melancholic sounds, and upbeat rythms, his influences are both rock and electronic.
His two first releases on Initial Cuts, Clean Breakfast & Hummer, are as many dancefloor pleasers which found their way into the record boxes of such djs as Michael Mayer, Agoria, The Hacker and Tiefschwarz.
Siskid has played many clubs in France and abroad, and was recently offered residencies at Café d’Anvers ( Belgium ), Rex Club ( Paris ), Sala Albeniz ( Gijon – Spain ).
Along with Ivan Smagghe and Arnaud Rebotini, he also plays guitar, bass and Keyboards during live performances of the famous band Blackstrobe.
Considered by Trax Magazine as one of France’s hottest producers at the moment, He is definitely playing his role in the renewal of the French electronic scene.
A new EP just released on Initial Cuts called “the Architect”. and he is also working on his own album, Animal Machine.
Siskid : a multi talented artist to be followed closely.
The Joint Echo Reinterpretatio.
These two producers have had an excellent year of quality productions and collaborations but this one surpasses the lot. The a-side is an hypnotic groove that builds slowly around a deep, wide bassline, fluttering beats flying off from the 4/4 pulse and a a low melody gradually emerging and with it a solid dancefloor energy. The flipside is a similar affair, taking the substantial dubby density of the a-side and deeping it out a little further to make way for a Matthew Jonson-esque synth melody which pushes the euphoric side of the mix. A stunner!!!
Lee Van Dowski is a young French artist who settled in Geneva with his wife and their two children in 2000 to fine-tune his production skills. For the last 5 years he has dedicated himself to composing punchy electronic pieces. His sound now goes well beyond complex patterns and organic bleeps, connecting with funky minimal techno.
