musick 21 – 12“ – out March, 28th 2008
SHRUBBN!! is back!!
musick (shitkatapult´s clubload label) presents RUMPELRITTER – an epic tekkkno 12″ by schieres and t.raumschmiere aka SHRUBBN!! this record contains four basic techno tracks with a zero tolerance policy against all odds. Opener BASSTOELPEL presents a straight 4 to the floor beat with a great hook-melody line. KUCHENBLECH and THEMA 2.0 follow this idea combining rave and rough and musick. last track on this ep is the giant ambient piece EBENHOLZ that has been made of pure sound progression and not easy logic plug ins. after all RUMPELRITTER remarks a great follow up of the first musick 12″ by SHRUBBN!! who are able to merge the “good old” t.raumschmiere techno punk vibe with a crystal clear techno beat. please also look out for the amazing SHRUBBN!! remixes of APPARAT (on shitkatapult´s upcoming strike 89 -apparat remixes double CD) and depeche mode singer DAVE GAHAN (on mute). feel the taste of musick – with SHRUBBN!!

shitkatapult strike 91 – CD – out 2nd of may 2008
LARS FENIN has been a shitkatapult artist right from the start. his first ep “container“ (strike 19) already displayed his unique dub techno trademark sound in the late nineties. several eps and one wonderful album (“grounded“) later shitkatapult proudly presents his second album “been through“ in may 2008. and FENIN truely developed: “been through“ steps out of the dub techno circus to involve much more.
firstly rhythmwise you can recognize that the dub step era influenced the berlin producer: 4 to the floor beats have been replaced by strong broken patterns that still deal with a dancefloor feeling but with ltheir subtle breaks and moves develop into a very own approach to electronic dancehall.
secondly and more important: just as other shitkatapult artists like T.RAUMSCHMIERE and APPARAT for example, FENIN developed his songwriting skills that already led him to his most impressing track so far (“none of them“ from “grounded”). the track “A TRY“ is far out! heartbreaking lyrics on a wonderful conscious tune, that easily merges dancefloor and listening approach. fenin’s charming comrade GORBI, a berlin based singer from ghana, lends his unique voice for this beautiful track. far away from being a ripping wanna-be jamaican reggae toaster, GORBI showcases a real african singer spirit in his work. as a whole “been through“ contains 4 tracks with GORBI: the very african “colourfield“, the majestic “a try“, the silent “I guess“ and the smiling cover version of “red red wine“ mark a line of tunes, songs – not tracks.
FENIN also released on labels like ECHOCORD, METEOSOUND, REVOLVER, HÖRZU, EINTAKT.

shitkatapult strike 89 – 2XCD – out april 4th, 2008
This is an amazing double CD from one of our favorite labels.
Some of the best music we have heard this year.
sascha ring aka apparat remains special: this new double cd release on
berlin label shitkatapult presents a first and fine collection of apparat´s
remix work until today.
cd 1 showcases 11 giant mixes he did for artists like paul kalkbrenner (w/ ellen allien), francesco tristano, swayzak, boys noize, lusine, nathan fake, meteo/thiel, nitrada, raz ohara and himself. Plus an unreleased live apparat re-version of “let your love grow” by moderat (a cooperation between modeselektor and
apparat) feat. the great tikiman (aka paul st hilaire).
cd 2 assembles 11 re-mixes done for apparat plus several apparat remix 12″.
all of them appear on cd for the first time: telefon tel aviv, modeselektor,
chris de luca vs phon.o, thomas fehlmann, monolake, boys noize, lusine and
many more are featured artists. also this cd features a previously
unreleased mix: shrubbn!! remixing hailin from the edge.
btw:
shrubbn!! is a new techno monster project by hamburgs digital punk producer
schieres and t.raumschmiere. strange as usual (see also the great dave gahan remix on mute) the shrubbn!! remix presents a
half beat double bass heavy tune that kicks floor and brain. hailin from the
edge on the corner of what you can roll on.
all together remixes – and parts to be frickeled is a giant showcase of
nowadays electronic music pioneers merging their ways of making music. club
killer tracks as well as silent epics and musical wonders find together
in apparat´s musical cosmos. this cd is not meant as a follow up of the
successfull “walls” album, rather a way to understand apparat´s background,
friends, influences, work and ideas. if you like “walls” you surely love
this one – and even more you can step into this new motion of electronic
music that takes both steps: loops/tracks/club music vs. songwriting,
soundscapes, and new ways of experimenting and understanding what is
possible with bits and bytes, instrument(al)s and vocals.

Greek duo AirbusModular will be releasing their debut record “Destination” on Traum in
April 08´.
The 3-tracker features the title track on the a-side. The brainy melodic avalanche track
“Destinations” has sequences wandering up and down randomly creating a seemingly
Latin like flavour.
The b-side holds the tracks “Poise” and “Manoeuvres time seconds”. “Poise” is a technical
but energetic track with lots of different parameters and small details throwing you gently
from one corner into the next. As the track evolves it develops into a dubby relaxed techno
house track.
AirbusModular´s shift from one genre into the other is achieved by a fantastic loose sort of
jam session like structure.
The b2 track “Manoeuvres time seconds” is more experimental and occasionally hits with
organ stabs und cool breaks.
Tracklist:
A. Destinations
B1. Poise
B2. Manoeuvres time seconds

Bukaddor & Fishbeck´s forth EP on MBF is again another step further into a slightly
different direction. As we have witnessed everyone of their record´s has been different so
far. “Nachtexpress/ Long distance call” stood for hypnotic repetitive contemplative music,
“Less/ Polterabend” for dynamic rocking heavy duty techno house, “Supaglass/ Campus”
added a touch of pop and smoothness… their new record “Live is Life/ Mr. Floppy” is
definitely the most stripped down percussive record they have done so far.
The beat phreak track “Live is Life” evolved from their recent live gigs in Rome. It is a very
direct “hands up in the air” monster.
We think Richie Hawtin will be able to relate to that tune since it evokes feelings of the past
which arouse when dancing to Plastikman records. Now with “Live is Life” the force is also
the unbelievable heavy bassline which is the motor for the track together with the
determined percussive onslaught.
“Live is Life” is definitely a DJ track which will mix in well with a lot of minimal records, but
the fatness of this one will show for sure.
“Mr. Floppy” is closer to their track “Campus” much bolder and softer, but very percussive
and funky. Probably the track which is less extreme but will work in many sets since it´s less
demanding, has cool breaks to relax and dynamic shifts which are all very well thought
out.
We can see this records will be a real DJ weapon, so don´t miss it.
Tracklist:
A. Live is Life
B. Mr. Floppy

As a workaholic DJ in the 90s, Arne Michel traveled throughout Europe and created
‘The Announced’ parties when most people had no clue what impact techno was to
have on the musical world. Back in the days releasing as “Thee Engineer” he returned
to the party circus in the last years without an alias. Now working in the independent
film business in Berlin and spinning at many a fine underground club on our vibrant party
circuit, he’s finding the time to put out some fine tunes for us.
‘Danke, Goodbye’ is Arne’s second release on Exercise One’s Lan Muzic imprint. The
title track is remixed by the mysterious Chat Noir – who is this black cat of minimal?
None other than Pan-Pot’s Tassilo, launching here his solo alias which he’s found the
time to create in between releasing the debut Pan-Pot album and touring all over the
world. Busy kitty!
On the logo side we find Arne’s beautiful charming and melancholic “goodbye / / danke”
to gently pluck your heart strings. But in the hands of Tassilo it gets a classical extended
remix, with Arne’s beautiful melody a bed for new punchy percussion and noise. To go
a bit darker….Black Cat Style!
On the info side Arne Michel shows the know how he’s collected over the years.
“Ignore” and “Osmose” are both serious all round club tracks. „Osmose“ has the focus
more on the beat and percussion. Osmosis is an exchange of energy, and can be made
to do work, as when a growing tree-root splits a stone. ‘Ignore’ takes us to a darker,
trippy side of the music without ignoring anything you might need to fall into its
deepness. Can you hear them? No – I ignore them!!!

A1 Goodbye // Danke
A2 Goodbye // Danke (Basic Mix by Chat Noir)

We are ecstatic to welcome Octopus to the Tailored family!
A modern electronic music imprint maintained and curated by Sian
(Aus/Pokerflat/Karmarouge), Octopus has to date worked with artists of the calibre of
Gui Borratto, 3Channels and Calculus.
Their fourth release welcomes French artist Herve AK, well known for his seasoned
and delicate techno compositions. Resident DJ and artistic director of Lyon’s renowned
DV1 club, Herve has to date released on everyone from K2/Kompact, Stirsound and
Obsolete, picking up a reputation as the ‘Louis Vuitton of techno’ along the way.
A side ‘Sorry But No’ (Rippertons D3 Remix) invites cultured Swiss artist Ripperton to
reinvent Herve’s original. Opening with clattering percussion, live electronic signals
coalesce into a melodic push, with euphoric pads and an off beat bass climb pushing the
mix to the edge and beyond.
On the B side, Herve’s original pulses and crackles with flickered percussion and patient
melody. Ethereal pads slowly approach from a distance, enlivening the composition and
agitating the dormant static into a frenzied climax.

Persona label boss Stewart Walker returns with his first
12” release since last year’s well-received album
“Concentricity.” On this release he continues to seek the
correct balance between power and detail in high,
medium, and low intensity versions.
The powerful A – Side, “The Stiff Materialist” kicks off the release with at least a thousand sounds
and a clearly defined dynamic narrative which shifts between many unique-sounding peaks and
plateaus.
B1 – “Free Association” has become a staple of Stewart’s live shows over the last 6 months. It’s a
little bit more subdued than the track on the flip, but it gains intensity with a pull on the pitch-slider,
and at slower pitches becomes more groovy.
B2 – “Mint Tea with Honey” is the most peaceful track of the EP, and one for those who really
enjoyed “Getting Drunk was the Right Thing to Do.” from Stewart’s last Persona 12” “Druid Hills.”
In case you are drifting away from your spaceship, completely helpless and without any gas for the control
nozzles, please follow the points given in the manual:
1. Get in a straight hovering position and smile as much as you can now.
2. Try to throw any particulary precious equipment towards the space ship.
3. Press the button „Winter“ on your control board and in the following dialogue window, press „Dump“.
Within the next 7 nano seconds, you will be completely frozen and of course, not alive anymore.
Thank you for your co-operation.

After an excellent feedback for its first release, Renovatio Records presents an ep made by young and rising producers from Sardinia.
The first track “Techno inside Me” is produced by Andrew KK, a new talented and promising artist from the sardinian techno scene who already released on 4line records from Barcelona. His track for Renovatio is obscure and obsessive, with a lot of synths that impress with its epic and agressive atmosphere.
The first track on the b side is “Techno is brain”, from the label manager Alessio Mereu, characterised by a deep bassline and a pressing groove, in which the hypnotic synths and a sensual voice are perfectly puzzled in and destined to keep the dancefloor crazy.
On the same side, “Morale della favola” by Danilo Carboni is characterised by a funky groove and deep sounds getting a surprising impact, with a particular evolution and great rithmics.
Don’t miss it!
