Italian electro producer Maurizio Dami, often credited as being the godfather of
Italo-disco, is back on Endless Flight with the first incredible single from his
la(te)st album ‘ My La(te)st Album’.
A1 ‘Disco Sick’ is a retro/futurist electro track, with reverse loop percussion
shuffling a simple synth melody, dramatised by thick sci-fi pads. A vocoded hook
narrates ever intensifying moaning synths and hi-end cymbals which ride out on
a cloud of sustained atmospherics.
A2 ‘Disco Sick (Robotnick remix) takes the track a lot deeper, with pulsing bass
and clattering percussion opening up into a faster and more chaotic house
adaptation of his original.
On the B side, ‘Disco Sick (Tensnake remix)’ takes us straight to a scene out of
Miami Vice, with funked up bass synth and resonant chimes characterising an icy
slick interpretation of Alexander’s original, paying homage to his classic electro
roots.
