A product of an intense artistic exchange between Parisian producer DJ Yellow and
New Yorker Astrid Suryanto, ‘The Intermission’ catalogues a story of burning desire
and accursed love.
The concept was clear from day one. The duo would write a love letter, and sculpt an
album from its contents. Within the letter was a tale of a character so tormented by the
possibility of her relationship losing colour that she decided to leave, eternally
preserving it’s resonance but tragically separating the star-crossed couple.
This bitter-sweet contrast of beauty and melancholy is ever present in ‘Intermission’,
with Astrid Suryanto’s soaring vocals adding shades of light and dark to DJ Yellow’s
blend of cold metallic techno and uplifting electronic pop.
Tracks like ‘In Your Voice’, ‘Light On Me’ and ‘To The Top’ are saturated with ethereal
pads and epic vocal harmony, yet animated by a jagged, buzzed synth and deep bass
pound that maintains the balance between warm and cold.
Not every track is shrouded in such conflict however, with cuts like ‘Night In’ and ‘You
Are’ moving into the realms of electronic pop, with technically complex rhythms
lightened by optimistic bass and a warm, ambient vocal tone.
Together, DJ Yellow and Astrid Suryanto have crafted an enchanting album that
approaches with intimate lyricism, moves with whirlwind euphoria and leaves behind a
resonant ember.

With Roland M. Dill we have signed our first home based artist from Cologne for a long
time.
Roland M. Dill has won a couple of DJ contests in the Rhein area and is a person who likes
the challenge of physical extremes. His passion is ice climbing, where he throws the axe
rhythmically in the glacier wall and has successfully climbed the Chimborazo.
He likes to DJ at least with 3 record players and if that all sounds a bit worrying… well he
is a guy that knows what he is doing.
Roland´s release on Trapez ltd in February 2008 is his first one and a stunning debut.
Quite untypical for the Cologne scene, that has lived some years from the inspiration of
Wolfgang Voigt, we witness here a fresh new style.
His release shows his skill to be accurate, physical and at the same time very funky. His
influences range from Chicago Jack trax to Adam Beyer, which he reveals with his tracks
the “8th Day” and “9th Day”.
Both tracks work with complex seemingly simple groove patterns and are special in that
respect that they bridge the borderline between Chicago and European minimal techno.
Being a youngster and newcomer we see a great potential in his fresh and dynamic way of
writing techno music and have asked him to produce a mix for Alex Under´s Remix EP
which will be released digitally on top of the vinyl release in January 2008.
In addition to the vinyl 12″ “Days” on Trapez ltd Roland will be releasing the digital bonus
track “Modus Operandy” which was also included on the Trapez mix CD “Triple R -
Selection 6″.
Track list:
A. The 8th Day
B. The 9th Day

After two very successful 12″s on MBF Piemont have earned their role as one of the key
players on the label. With their new record “Bastille” they have developed their style even
stronger in the fashion of their first two releases. Piemont have taken some time out to
deliver a record that really works with similar parameters.
Their trademark so far has been a fat production that strips down elements of electro-house
and progressive elements in a rhythmical way that makes them one of the best producers
from Hamburg.
MBF is proud to present a 2 -tracker with the tracks “Bastille” and “Montmartre”. Both
tracks are in a way clonk groovers with occasional peaks that set the floor on fire.
Blessed with a good deal of understatement and an extraordinary feeling for the groove
they manage to have a big effect with seemingly few sounds.
The a-side track “Bastille” is a a true fat prime time rocker that fills the air with bass and
sequences that make Italy legend Alexander Robotnik come alive. Whereas the flipside
track “Montmartre” is more specialised and connects psychedelia with pop.
Track list:
A. Bastille
B. Montmartre

The Russian duo Moonbeam have taken a year out to concentrate on a worthy follow up to
their debut record “Eclipse” on Traum. We are proud to release once again a strong
musical 12″.
The 3 track EP includes on the a-side “Slow Heart” a dreamy piece of techno with melodic
stabs, airy and liquid at the same time in its shape. A real voyage through layers of sound
telling a story in sound.
The flip side holds the tracks “Something Alive” and “Spring Story”.
“Something Alive” is the most stripped down track by Moonbeam. Rhythmical and written
in a stop and go modus, this track has a more fragile sound aesthetic to it, but explodes
after the break into a supernova of sound.
“Spring Story” has the uplifting quality of offshoots breaking through the earth in fast
motion! Full of energy and speed this peak time techno track could be an alternative to the
a-side “Slow Heart”.
Track list:
A. Slow Heart
B1. Something Alive
B2. Spring Story

Italian electro producer Maurizio Dami, often credited as being the godfather of
Italo-disco, is back on Endless Flight with the first incredible single from his
la(te)st album ‘ My La(te)st Album’.
A1 ‘Disco Sick’ is a retro/futurist electro track, with reverse loop percussion
shuffling a simple synth melody, dramatised by thick sci-fi pads. A vocoded hook
narrates ever intensifying moaning synths and hi-end cymbals which ride out on
a cloud of sustained atmospherics.
A2 ‘Disco Sick (Robotnick remix) takes the track a lot deeper, with pulsing bass
and clattering percussion opening up into a faster and more chaotic house
adaptation of his original.
On the B side, ‘Disco Sick (Tensnake remix)’ takes us straight to a scene out of
Miami Vice, with funked up bass synth and resonant chimes characterising an icy
slick interpretation of Alexander’s original, paying homage to his classic electro
roots.

The two track 12″ features “Sceada” on the a-side. A track that makes use of a tender “sneaking” motion, that builds on the style Bukaddor & Fishbeck have developed on MBF. On the flipside “Mantikor” gives you the feeling as if dancing on a volcano. Under the surface you can sense a movement of sounds that slowly motions near the surface, till shortly before the end of the track when it eventually reaches the surface.

Now here’s the best of Peter Black’s re-edit series - probably because the originals are so good (and hard to find too!). First up is the amazing piano-prodded, dub-heavy masterpirce that is “How Much Are They?”. Jah Wobble, Jaki Liebezeit (from Can) and Holger Czukay’s collaboration that was on Island in the early 80s. On the flip, Jah Wobble’s “Invaders of the Heart” which was his girst track after leaving PIL - a dubby disco classic.
