Nelson were the brains behind this club night, the fathers of this rock revolution if you will. Sounding and looking like Interpol crossed with Rapture they helped to create Paris’s first ever proper rocking and rolling scène.

Who the fuck is Disco Toni?

Disco Toni is a handsome guy hanging out too long, too often and too xxx at your local discotheque. A lost super hero of an extreme soap opera of nowadays’ tvmusicfilmyellowpress daily life. Dirty, sexy, extreme, a shining star with the voice of an angel named Corinna Vidic. Magnum 38 wrote a musical portrait of this bright personality. A techno/electro thing that will burn everything and everybody wherever it will be played – no matter if it’s a big rave hall with 4000 people or a drugged out after hour in a small club. With its gnarzy breakbeats and its deepness it’s rave and pop at the same time, but most of all it’s a monster, monster, monster.

Play it!!

Novamute superstars Motor deliver an ass kicking 4 to the floor remix. They seem to be trying to push Toni in a straighter outfit, but that doesn’t really work: Too strong his body, too strange his mind, the 4 to the floor version of Motor stays twisted!

And who is Magnum 38:

Almost ten years ago after playing in a couple of notorious punk and rock outfits Oliver Greschke decided to exchange his old guitar for a good sound card and to free himself from all the compromising that comes with being just one single piece (however large it may be) in that puzzle called a band or a group. He wanted to be one solid monolith, a weapon on his own and all by himself.
With his mostly breakbeat solo productions under the alias Magnum 38 he has then been part of the Shitkatapult label family right from the start and released two eps and a few compilation contributions on this label and its sub label Musick.

After months of losing himself in experimentalism and reaktor patches, after taking journeys into minimal house and nerdy abstract tracks Oliver Greschke aka Magnum 38 has now finished his first solo album that will be released on Musick in August. Stay tuned!

Hailing from Northamptonshire, a county full of towns too small to reach that critical mass where life will be created, but big enough for a Woolworths and a vicious be shirted bastard on every corner, Twisted Charm use sax, new wave dance inflections and a fraught insistence to expunge the frustrations that see the within provincial life, and create their own dark reality.

On “Boring lifestyles”, the band depicts their own life in Northamptonshire, transporting us in an environment between Electro and saturated rock.

South central that have made their name so far giving the likes of shitdisco, metronomy and the maccabees big, ofer us a Disco/ house remix perfectly tuned for electrising the Dancefloor…But the remix is our absolute favourite.

In Paris right now, it seems the kids can’t get enough of dancing to the synthesizer music, the harder and darker the better. There is even a scene of a sort, that includes Justice, french famous record label Kitsune, Digitalism, SebastiAn as well as seminal electro disto-king Mr Oizo. It buzzes, but in a nasty way that makes your stomach feel funny, and for a lot of people makes your feet want to move. So, new to the scene in 2006 is this young man, DJ and producer datA from the outskirts of Paris, who says he likes “Michael Jackson, Jean-Michel Jarre, Daft Punk, Chroméo, Jamie Lidell, Pharrell Williams and Midnight Star” - sounds like a reasonable swath of pop goodness. His first single J’aime pas l’art has been critically acclaimed in France, rated #36 single of 2006 by French pop cult mag Les Inrocks. His remixes and production have already been playlisted by Justice, Pedro Winter, Guns n’ bombs (Kitsuné), Benjamin Diamond (Stardust/Diamond Traxx), Ajax (Modular), Pitchfork Media… 4 tracks on this fresh EP, already a classic!

HEADPHONE KARAOKE is the very very glam project initiated by Eric Labbé and Charlotte Miquel. A couple generously convert in his faith in a radical and happy clubbing, with a certain tendency to fire dancefloors. They have played for more than two years in many European clubs, always raising the same enthusiasm.

They are also engaged, particularly through Act Up, in the struggle for decriminalization of drug use. Eric has written a certain number of articles and research which place him today as an interlocutor recognized by professionals and authorities.

Their first EP begin with a catchy and hynotic song perfectly suitable for the dancefloor, and more. This track is deep with a raw, druggy bassline — mixed with sexy ‘explicit’ vocals.

The second is a serious peak time, with a cocktail of dark underground beats, fat bassline, digital wildlife effects and a sexy, distorted vocal hook that rides the groove effortlessly.

On the flip-side ‘Last night a dealer saved my life’ is remixed by well-known genevan electro house veteran plastique de reve, whose successfull tracks & remixes could be heard on various labels like gigolo, turbo, viking, wmf or mental groove. He reworks this deep tune based on his own words into a tracky, acidified funky dj tool.

We had warned you …

Ascii Disko is the project of multi-instrumentalist/DJ Daniel Holc Formerly of Slown and also a member of Venus Vegas, in Ascii Disko he crafts a mix of rock and electronica inspired by techno, acid house, and electro. The Madrid-based musician signed to the German label Ladomat 2000. and released two full length albums and countless 12″ and remixes. Merging his indie rock background with electronics, ascii.Disko creates new possibilities of sound. Showing no fear, he dives into electronica with refreshing ideas.

Ascii.Disko does not have one style or appeal to one scene, instead it is exciting and intelligent music that all can enjoy. The strong beats and harmonic vocals are an excellent blend. Not only will it be enjoyable for the DJ but for all those on the dance floor as well.

A1-BLACK SUMMER

Pure dance-floor devastation! This Track has been ascii.disko’s secret weapon in his live-sets for over 2 years now. A monster unleashed, from the blackest Club-floors of Berlin to the big Summer Open Airs of Spain.

A2-TONITE

A harmonic vocoder- minimal- rave- anthem. For these special moments at sunrise…

B1-DIE BÖSE MIEZEKATZE

“THE BAD PUSSYCAT” the track sounds exactly like the title suggests. Fierce distortion disco to thrash and burn!

B2-LA SANTA MUERTE

Written after a spiritual experience on a Mexican Street Market. Dark acid bleeps meet latin rhythm structures.

The Berlin duo consist of Red Robin aka Till Robin Hennecke und Jakob Hilden. Both have a career going in Berlin. Robin has already recorded a 12″ for Platzhirsch. He is an upcoming DJ and resident in the legendary after hour club “Bar 25″, home of extreme parties with Richie Hawtin and friends. Jakob Hilden, half of the techno project Format B is a well known producer who has played live on many occasions in and outside of Berlin.
As Format B he has recorded records for Highgrade, Stil Vor Talent and Opossom.
Together they have come up with a straight but powerful 2 tracker. The a-side track “Dandelion” has the drive of a steam engine counteracted by percussive drugged out sequences and staccato melodies. As we understand it, it is a true Berlin tune.
The flipside comes with the track “Snapdragon” that works stronger with sequenced rhythmic melodies and abstract hook lines. Both tracks are extremely clubby and a show off a lot of knowledge and experience for the physical aspect in club music/techno and how to rock a crowd. Metro Gold will just be the beginning for them on Trapez ltd.

RELEASE DATE: 02. July 2007
dominikeulbergsuperflurmx.gif

This 12″ comes with two remixes of Dominik Eulberg´s recent hit track “Die Grünschenkel
im blauen Priel”. One by a man in demand, 2000 And One aka Dylan Hermelijn and one
by Traum´s new mega talented duo Super Flu.
2000 And One is a person with an enormous history. He belongs to the initiators of techno
in the Netherlands, recorded under the name of Edge of Motion, being a mayor force on
Djax Up besides Terrace and started his own label in 1992. His strong comeback some
years ago was supported by Carl Craig, Richie Hawtin and Sven Väth and others from the
top of the German techno scene.
Being a huge fan of Dominik Eulberg, he flew at the opportunity to remix his new tune.
2000 And One elevated the sequence triggered minimal track and stripped it down to a
long intro containing the original sequence, slowly introducing a funky, super groove into
the main sequence and adding small sounds… he has made it a prime time mega mover!
Reduced to the essentials and pumped up in a big way, this track will do damage!
On the flipside we find a mind-boggling wonderful tricky remix by Traum newcomers
Super Flu. The duo has just released a remarkable debut 12″ and has now been given the
chance to remix Traum´s top man Dominik Eulberg.
The remix has the quality of a great James Holden track as Dominik put´s it, with an
dynamic constantly shifting, never at ease… always alert and rocking in all situations.
Super Flu are super talents which they have already proven with their own tracks and this
remix out on Traum.

bukkadorundfishbek.gif

After the huge impact Bukaddor & Fishbeck´s “Less/ Polterabend” release had on German
dance floors and in Richie Hawtin´s set at one of Germanys biggest festivals “Time Warp”,
the follow up “Nachtexpress/ Long Distance Call” was the logical progression for MBF
befor the summer.
The a-side track “Nachtexpress” is very different to their debut since it is not programmed
so much in the “off beat” modus, but has more of an hypnotic and understatement
character. “Nachtexpress” sounds a bit as if Steve Bug´s “Loverboy” had had some serious
surgery making the track a 100% night crawler. The track is carried by a bassline motor
and some nice percussions providing a steady but gentle touch to emerge on the floor as a
trippy tale.
The flipside “Long Distance Call” is a lot more relaxed but at the same time also mystical,
seemingly non directional at first, but works its way into a post Detroit track with nice
strings coming along after some minutes. The track works like a magnet in slow motion
modus, rather than being a in your face track.
